Design Haus Liberty: My Chelsea Hotel
A niche boutique hotel located in the heart of Chelsea. My Chelsea, part of the My Hotels brand has been designed by Design Haus Liberty with a fresh and welcoming style.
Located in the very heart of Chelsea, My Hotels' boutique hotel has been designed by the very talented team at Design Haus Liberty to draw inspiration from the local area. The beautiful gardens and iconic flower shows renowned for the area have all influenced the hotel's designs to create an experience where botany and nature combine to provide a serene environment for guests to relax and soak up the atmosphere.
As guests enter the lobby, they are greeted by a large bespoke lighting feature consisting of vintage filament bulbs encased in large glass spheres. The spheres all have large circular cutouts allowing chains to pass through them, suspending each bulb at a different height. The surrounding walls have all been painted in 'Raven' black to draw attention up towards the ceiling and lighting. In the main conservatory, muted tones have been selected to create a backdrop that allows the greenery and tropical array of plants to stand out.
Design Haus Liberty Lux Pear lights provide an organic counterpart to the existing structural framework of the greenhouse. These beautiful organic layers juxtapose with carefully sourced geometric furniture ranging from black wood barstools to woven and upholstered armchairs and lounge seating. The white stone top bar has been clad in distressed brass, injecting warmth into the interior whilst complimenting the natural green tones of the upholstery and surrounding foliage. Light white oak flooring has been laid to an angled geometry, aligning furniture and subtly dividing the sections of the space.
The tropical greenery continues into the bedrooms through the use of exotic and colourful art prints and decorative accessories. Reminiscent of dew droplets on the leaves of plants, Design Haus Liberty has cleverly incorporated their LUX designed Dewdrop pendant lights into the interior with dramatic effect. An upholstered headboard reaches the entire length of the wall, extending to unify the bed and wooden side tables into one visual unit. Navy blue has been used to highlight the back wall, directing all attention to the centrepiece of the room. In the bathroom, hexagonal concrete tiles wrap the walls with a honeycomb mesh integrated into the bespoke joinery for a luxurious contemporary feel.
The entire hotel has such a tranquil feel to it that it is very easy to forget that it is located in the busy city of London. Design Haus Liberty have succeeded in drawing inspiration from the charm and finesse of the surrounding area whilst providing a calming and luxurious experience for guests to enjoy after an exciting and busy day in the city.
