Canary Wharf Group Launches Eden Dock

Created in partnership with world-leading charity the Eden Project, Canary Wharf Group launches ‘Eden Dock’, a transformation of the Mid Dock into a first-of-its-kind, urban oasis in the heart of the Wharf.

Eden Dock will significantly enhance the way people experience the Wharf, with an abundance of verdant new public spaces and extensive planting both under and around the tranquil waters of the dock. As well as improving the area’s biodiversity, Eden Dock will considerably boost the overall wellbeing of those who work, live and visit the vibrant neighbourhood, providing unprecedented access to beautiful waterside spaces and natural beauty like never before. People will be able to fully take advantage of the thoughtfully designed floating gardens and inviting boardwalks, allowing them to enjoy the diverse habitats that are now home to new wading birds, waterfowl and songbirds, along with bees, eels and a variety of plant species that are rarely seen before in London.

To mark the official launch, captivating living artwork titled ‘Nature Rising’ has been unveiled, featuring over 20 intricate living figures crafted from ligustrum – a vibrant flowering shrub. These fasinating figures are strategically dotted around the dock, symbolising the essential connection between nature and people coexisting harmoniously. They reflect the impressive ways in which Eden Dock weaves nature seamlessly into its urban surroundings through innovative ecological practices. The figures will be preserved as a significant part of Canary Wharf Group’s permanent public art collection, enhancing the area’s cultural landscape.
