Artemest: Stranger Pinks
Artemest, the online destination for the very best in Italian design presents 'Stranger Pinks' a collaboration with TED Milano showcasing everything pink to celebrate the year of the woman.
During this year's Salone del Mobile, Artemest collaborated with TED Milano to celebrate the year of the woman in a special exhibition showcasing everything pink. Designers were invited to share custom and unique products created in the ever-popular hue which were exhibited in a magnificent 1930's Milanese villa, now the home to TED Milano in the Sempione region of the city.
Over forty-five brands took part in the exhibition including Paola Paronetto with an incredible selection of decorative bottles (top image) inspired by religious architecture and handcrafted in a mixture of paper pulp and clay to create a delicate and colourful presence in a space. Alberto Donà's Mimosa 42-light chandelier (image directly below) wowed the crowds with its impressive handcrafted design, finished with pink mica specks glass spheres taking inspiration from the Mimosa flower.
Products were styled in a collection of rooms within the villa, complementing one another through impressive displays and table settings. A personal favourite was the dining set as seen directly below using decorative and colourful glassware from Griffe Montenapoleone by Vetrerie di Empoli exhibited on a circular mirrored table sprinkled with flower petals. Suspended above the table were decorative Orchid Kokedamas with multi-colour blooms.
The exhibition was one of many highlights of this year's outstanding design week. It is wonderful to see brands collaborating in such ways whilst using the beauty of Milan to showcase their work. As the world of bespoke design opens up to the masses, it is exciting to see the possibilities that are available for our homes at the touch of a button.
