Set within the beautiful surroundings of The Goldwyn House in the Hollywood Hills neighbourhood of Los Angeles, The Future Perfect is a gallery and show space with a difference, presenting art how within the personal and intimate areas of the home, as it is designed to be consumed and admired. The brand is one of the world’s foremost contemporary design galleries, distinguished by its range of vision and strong curatorial focus, which showcases studio-created works alongside one-of-a-kind and limited-edition pieces.
Launched to coincide with the city’s Frieze art week, the gallery launched ‘Dear Future’, the first solo exhibition in Los Angeles by the Italian artist, industrial designer and architect Gaetano Pesce. Dear Future spans over five decades of Pesce’s visionary designs (1969-2022) and greets guests on the ground floor with a colourful array of works that all exhibit a fun and curious nature.
Driven by curiosity and radical thinking, Pesce is celebrated for blurring boundaries between art, design and architecture, and for provocatively combining social critique with an experimental pursuit of material and technological innovation. This mode of thought stems from Pesce’s early alignment with Radical Design — a movement born out of a tumultuous period of civil unrest and economic turmoil in Italy and defined by a generation of Italian architects’ rebellious opposition to the hyper-rationalism, functionalism and industrial perfection of 20th-century Modernism.
