Images and highlights from this year's Taste of London festival. Discovering new foods
, brands and demonstrations exhibiting during the Summer event.
You know that Summer is in full swing when the Taste of London festival opens up in Regents Park, converting a section of lush green space into a foodies paradise. Hundreds of food and drink related brands give us a taste into different worlds, cultures and styles over its five day run, hoping to inspire and broaden our horizons. I was lucky enough to be invited along to this year's event, my fourth year running, to find out just what was on offer.
Over the years I have noticed a steady increase in drinks brands taking part at Taste, everything from spirits to smoothies. As an avid Gin lover, I was delighted to see a personal favourite of mine calling for my attention at very centre of the park. With welcoming smiles and an attractive set of deckchairs to lure me over, Sipsmith staff were on hand to discuss and advise on their fantastic selection of fine Gins, with knowledge on everything from the process of creation to the perfect serving suggestions. After learning about the collection, I needed no excuse to sit down and enjoy a cocktail on one of these marvellous deck chairs!
Whilst walking around, it was great to see such a mix of brands showcasing with demonstrations and masterclasses for visitors to take part in across the five days. Catering for every preference of food and drink that you could possibly imagine, there will be an area of interest for everyone. Top restaurants including Duck & Waffle, German Gymnasium, Aqua Nueva and Vanilla Black all took part this year, adding their own individual take a personality to the experience and in true British style, come rain or shine, people were enjoying themselves even in the drizzle.
For an established Summer staple event, it is great to see a fresh approach year on year. New layouts and additions to restaurants, food and demonstrations keep each visit fresh and interesting. After four years of attending, I would strongly recommend upgrading your tickets to VIP to get a little bit more luxury from the show. With 55,000 people visiting the show every annually, a place to sit down and relax is a top priority after eating copious amounts of food.
With another enjoyable, yet slightly muddy year down, I am already looking forward to what festivities the November festival with have to offer. For further information on the festivals, times and locations, click to view the Taste festival official website.
