Etihad: The Residence
Posted on June 20 2016
The Residence by Etihad has taken luxury travel in aviation to a whole new level. Take a look at the world's first three room suite of the sky.
Many of us associate interior design with residential properties, others with restaurants, shops and businesses but this design extends much further than many of us realise, so far out that we can see it in the sky. Luxury travel means big business and when it comes to flying, we are familiar with seeing the beautiful fold out beds with luxury linens but how about taking that further? I know one brand that has done just that and more.
Etihad are ruling the skies with their breath taking, one of a kind Residence. This three room suite on board their A380 fleet are all custom designed and individual, having all the luxury and service and style that you would expect from a luxury hotel. Looking at the images and videos of the Residence you will be amazed at how this inspirational brand have managed to apply the level of luxury and sophistication within the confinements of an airplane.
Starting before your arrival, the VIP travel concierge service will make all the arrangements necessary, from a luxury chauffeur to private check-in and lounge, making your experience as seamless and comfortable as possible. From the moment of boarding, a personal butler is on hand to attend to your needs whilst an onboard chef is ready to offer a bespoke, made to order dining experience.
Located on the front upper deck of the much admired A380 fleet, this three roomed suite has been designed by leading interior designers and measures a total of 125 ft, provides guests with a spacious living area, ensuite bathroom and double bedroom. The living room contains all the finest necessities and more including; Vera Wang glassware, Bernardaud porcelain china, plush custom carpets and the finest Paltrona Frau leather upholstery. There is even a 32" HD TV to enjoy your inflight entertainment on with noise cancelling headphones to enhance the sound.
If the living quarters were not enough there is a private double bedroom, complete with luxurious linen from Pratesi of Italy, soft detail lighting, turndown service and even breakfast in bed. With additional storage, a full set of luxurious cushions and even a throw, there really is nothing else like it in the sky. Once you have caught up on your sleep it is time to make it to the third and final room of the Residence, the ensuite bathroom. This space comes with full size shower cubicle, luscious towels, dressing gown, toiletries and pamper products to make sure that you are feeling refreshed on your arrival.
It is incredibly refreshing to see a company such as Etihad take luxury to new levels. It is not only the ultra luxurious materials, finishes and services that make the Residence an incredible space, it is the solutions and application of design to a space that has restrictions created by shape, size and mobility that come across the most impressive. Creating a luxurious suite in the sky, unlike anything we have seen before is a colossal achievement and the level of service only adds to its impressiveness. Founded in 2003, this airline has already achieved the impossible. I cannot wait to see what Etihad Airways has for us next.
