Marks & Spencer Christmas Event
Posted on November 30 2016
After visiting a huge amount of Christmas events this year, starting all the way back in July, one of the events that has stood out to me the most is the Marks & Spencer Christmas event, launching their ranges of home decorations, foods, drinks and much much more. Rather than just a display where visitors can view the items on display, Marks & Spencer managed to create an experience, immersing guests into a Christmas world where they were able to sample and interact with products and designs.
Set up in a temporary space directly under Embankment bridge in central London, guests were treated to full Christmas festivities, all within one impressive location. Out of all the displays I have seen this year, the impressive bauble room that had been set up for the event was one of my favourites. It is clear that we have been displaying our baubles wrong all this time! Suspended at multiple heights, the mirrored corridor presented Christmas decorations in a unique and kaleidoscopic way, the perfect photo opportunity for everyone to share.
Muted tones are this year's festive season must-have colours and we are seeing the classic metallics such as gold being replaced for their softer counterparts. Brass has been incredibly dominant within home and accessories for the past few seasons and it currently shows no sign of slowing down. These light variations are perfect for pairing with many other colours such as pastel pinks, light blues and even vibrant reds if you are looking to make a statement.
Silver will always be the timeless Christmas metallic in my eyes, the one that is easiest to pair with other colours and adapt styles to your home. It was great to see that Marks and Spencer have created such a beautiful collection focusing on these pristine Winter silvers and witness for myself just how well they work together. It was another delight to see an emphasis on wreaths, from the traditional classics of evergreens to the contemporary and creative takes for those feeling adventurous. Wreaths are such a beautiful accessory that can instantly add festive spirit to their surroundings, a must have for someone looking to keep things simple.
With so much to experience, from gin making and eclair decorating to home accessories and food sampling, Marks and Spencer's event had Christmas covered. It is refreshing to see a brand that plans and covers the finest of details, ensuring that when it comes to Christmas, nothing has been forgotten.
