CitizenM: Tower Of London Hotel
Posted on August 16 2016
CitizenM has opened it's doors at one of the most iconic locations in London, Tower Bridge. With jaw dropping historical views, quirky British design and modern technology at it's heart, I was very excited to experience a night's stay at the hotel with some of the UK's top interior bloggers. Arriving at the hotel, I had just enough time to breeze through check-in before meeting up with my fellow bloggers for the evening's event! Making my way over to a circle of computers, smiling staff were on hand for those of us that are slightly less technology savvy than others. In a matter of seconds, I had my key and was ready to drop my things off in my room.
Decorated in an eccentric British style, the hotel has a huge collection of art on display, covering themes of the UK from traditional Tower of London references to 90's pop culture and British humour pieces. A Personal favourite of mine is the Julian Opie artwork that takes centre stage in one of the central social spaces. This idea of socialness defines the CitizenM brand, creating something very unique, unlike anything I have seen before. Touring the hotel, it was refreshing to see guests lounging in their slippers, watching television, people finding quiet corners to read books and groups of friends enjoying each others company amongst the iconic and playful furniture.
The hotel rooms may be compact but they make full use of the space, providing guests with everything they need for a comfortable stay. Before arriving, I had heard about the CitizenM iPads that control the room so I could not wait to get my hands on one to experience it for myself. The iPad controls everything from the lighting colour and strength in the room to the blinds, temperature and even entertainment. I must admit that I was so intrigued and consumed with the device, changing the settings to my preference that I was actually late to meet the bloggers!
Pulling myself away from the room controls, I made my way back down to the social spaces on the ground floor to meet up with Camron PR, We Blog Design and my fabulous fellow bloggers. It was a chance to catch up with old friends, be introduced to news ones and mingle over a glass of Champagne whilst admiring the CitizenM surroundings. Once we had all arrived, it was time for the moment we had all been waiting for, a cocktail masterclass with East London Liquor Company at the cloudM batr on the seventh level of the hotel.
Location really is key to the hotel and CitizenM boasts uninterrupted views of the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the Shard and City Hall, which it exploits by using large floor to ceiling windows throughout the hotel. CloudM is the jewel in the crown (Tower of London reference!) allowing visitors to walk out onto the terrace and soak up the richness of the city. Sipping our delicious gin cocktails, we not only had time to learn about the perfect ingredients that make up the East London Liquor company gin, we got to experience first hand the ingredients that make up an impressive forward thinking hotel with a world class service.

I enjoyed your review of CitizenM, I found this via Google. I’ve just shared my own review of CitizenM Tower Bridge also. I think we came to a very similar conclusion! Loved the quirky style.
