Amara SS17 Collection Launch
Posted on April 10 2017
There is nothing better than a launch of a Spring Summer collection. It immediately makes everything feel great again. After what feels like a long, cold and dark Winter, it is time to get the colours out, embrace the longer evenings and transform the home into a miniature paradise, connecting spaces to nature and enjoying the sun whilst we have it. After a very successful launch of their first own label collection, Amara are back with a more refined Spring / Summer collection, covering everything that you could possibly want in the home.
Enchanted
This collection has been inspired by natural and organic living. I love the soft and subtle colours which project calmness and tranquility into a room. The designs are also great for combining a range of colours without becoming overbearing, with each piece complimenting the next to create an effortlessly beautiful rustic space. One of my favourite pieces has to be the Elton Vase in Lustre Amber which can be seen in the top image. This vase will work anywhere and its beautiful warm amber colour makes the vase just as noticeable as the flowers displayed within it. Far too often, a vase will go unnoticed when it contains an impressive bouquet of flowers, I believe it is time to change that. (collection images above and below)
Bazaar
The collection attracting all the attention is Bazaar and as you can see from the images below, it's not hard to understand why. Injecting vibrant colours and exotic prints, Bazaar is willing to go that one step further and is not afraid to be the centre of focus. These are designs that will always bring a smile to your face. Whilst we associate vibrant colours more with the Summer months, this collection will make it feel like it is Summer all year long. Featuring in all three images below is the Peony Vase with Handle. I was immediately drawn to the colour (being an avid fan of anything green) and it is my must have object from the collection. (Collection images below)
Odyssey
The moment of calm. Odyssey is a collection that has strong nautical references. Using crisp whites against small pops of coral and citric colours, Amara have created designs with extended character, layering materials and textures in all areas, from upholstery and soft accessories to crockery and tableware. Yet another vase has attracted my attention, this time the Aphrodite vase in black and white (not photographed) an elegant piece that portrays the movement of water, a perfect addition to the collection.
District
Contemporary pieces with a clean and defined presence. Inspired by the architectural style of loft living, accents of burnt orange and vivid blue are combined with marble, concrete, and leather for that hugely popular masculine city living look. The beauty of District comes from the simplicity of its designs and the dominance of its character. Vivid colours and accessories can be replaced to create new looks that transform the core monochrome products, giving you the freedom to express yourself in whichever way you want with minimal effort. It is the Monroe Dinner plate in black that completes the District look. I love the exotic textured edges that give the crockery that little bit extra charm that is sure to be a talking point of any dinner event.
The SS17 collection is available now via the official Amarawebsite. It is great to see designs that cover such a diverse range of styles, allowing every individual to discover items that suit their personal tastes with no compromise. Building upon the sucess of last season's collection, I look forward to discovering the top items from this season as I am sure that some of them will be making their way into my home too!
