Pulse Design London 2016
Posted on June 06 2016
May saw me attend my first ever Pulse exhibition at Olympia to discover new trends, designers and products. Divided into four sections: Launchpad, Living, Fashion and Found, the exhibition makes it easy for you to find the products and areas of designs that you are looking for. "Launchpad" has been designed as a platform to uncover the finest emerging design and talent whilst "Living" is the section to source exclusive and exciting homeware from established brands.
As you would expect "Fashion" is where you can find all the latest fashion, clothing and accessory trends whilst the new addition to this year is "Found", sourcing never before seen products and designs from international brands covering all areas including fashion, interiors and giftware. As you can imagine, I made my way straight to living to get stuck in with the brands.
As soon as I arrived, I made my way straight to Lauriger stand to meet the team and experience their beautiful products first hand. Ever since I first featured the cubist collection in my "Lauriger: Cubist Homeware" feature, I have fallen in love with the brand. I was delighted to see that the range has now expanded into a vibrant collection of cushions and home accessories as you can see featured above. I cannot wait to see how this brand evolves in the future.
One of my favourite design discoveries from from this year's exhibition was be&liv, a Scandinavian design company established in Helsinki that has created some inspiration products such as the Blossom collection of lampshades and tealight holders, Palea candle holder and Patals fruit bowl, all of which fold flat for easy transportation and storage!
My visit to Pulse was complete when I bumped into the wonderful team at Willow & Honey. Having tried out some of their fantastic candle range myself, I needed to persuading to discover and smell the full range of candles, and how lovely they smelt! What better way to learn about these beautiful products than from the creators of the products themselves. I would definitely urge you to check out the full product range.
With so many brands on display, it may take you more than one day to get around, especially if you want to have a close up look at them all. After another successful year, Pulse will return in 2017 between 14-16th May, click to view the official website for further details and to register your interest for next years show.
