Brown's Hotel: Kipling Suite Opening
Posted on May 10 2016
I had the pleasure of being invited to the Brown's hotel, not only in celebration for the opening of their beautiful new Kipling suite, but to also to raise a glass to Grant and the year anniversary of his blog which I am sure you are all familiar with "Interior Style Hunter" The evening consisted of a tour of the Kipling suite, a discussion into the design choices and luxurious style and finally a toast to the Interior Style Hunter himself.
The suite has earned its name from famous writer Rudyard Kipling, writer of the Jungle Book which was completed in this very hotel. Designed by Olga Polizzi, the in-house interior designer for the Rocco Forte Hotels (The group of hotels in which Brown's forms part of) you will notice character and striking style around every corner. I particularly love the use of Lewis & Wood wallpaper in the hallway and bedroom, matching prints but different in sizes, it adds such a distinct and recognisable look to the room.
Without a doubt, my favourite room in the Kipling suite is the washroom. The choice of White Arabescato marble adds a depth to this space and has cleverly been added to the entire sink and shower areas, creating a seamless design that draws your eye from one side of the room, past the inset mirror and across to the bath area. If the marble was not enough, layers of character have been added through accessories and lighting to create a unique space that feels personal. This look is daring for any interior designer but has most certainly paid off to create an unforgettable space and a concept that is now associated with the hotel.
It was an exceptional event and I would like to congratulate Grant once more for his fantastic achievements. It has been a pleasure to discover the designs from such an iconic hotel and I cannot wait to experience more.
