Lee Broom: NK, Stockholm Design Week
Posted on February 04 2019
Lee Broom creates a striking window design for Stockholm Design Week at the city's luxury department store, Nordiska Kompaniet.
Always one to create stand-out designs with strong visual identities, Lee Broom celebrates this year's Stockholm Design Week by creating a mesmerising window concept for the city's luxury department store, NK Stockholm (Nordiska Kompaniet). Conceived as a contemporary and playful interpretation of ‘The Red Planet’, Broom's design features a selection of his lighting and furniture designs, including last year's release of the popular 'Orion' lighting design, set against a vivid red background.
A focal piece is the Hanging Hoop Chair with red upholstery and brushed brass framework. Suspended from above, two brass plated steel circular hoops connect to create the striking silhouette of Hanging Hoop Chair, with the seat and backrest upholstered in Kvadrat wool. Adding to the celestial theme, Crescent and Mini Crescent lights create an other-worldly glow formed from an illuminated sphere sliced in half to reveal a crescent-shaped brushed brass fascia, seamlessly combining the solid and the opaque.
The window design will be on display at the NK Stockholm Store during the design week, between 4th - 10th February 2019. For further information on the designs and collections featured, click to view the official Lee Broom website.
