Discover the unique cubist designs by Svetlana Koženová, creating iconic and mesmerising designs for a geometric table setting like no other.
We live in a world of design, choice and variety. It is increasingly difficult to discover a design that has unique qualities, that stands out for being daring, different and fresh. For all of these reasons, it makes my discovery of Laurier's cubist tableware and accessories all the more exciting and I couldn't wait to share them with you.The incredible designs of the Lilia collection caught my eye and stopped me from what I was doing. I had to discover the whole collection and find out exactly what it was about and where I could buy out from! Described as a collection that "combines the geometry of cubism and oriental origami with the effortless grace of the water lily" the Lilia collection has a mesmerising sculptural presence that I have never seen in a dinnerware collection.
Consisting of eleven items, Lilia transforms regular everyday dinnerware items such as plates, bowls cups and saucers into cubist works of art. Their geometric form creates a unique connection between one another. The teacups seamlessly connect with their corresponding saucers, expanding the design and uniting as one. Similarly, the mugs effortlessly slot between the edges of the bowls creating endless table setting combinations.
Designed by Svetlana Koženová and produced in the Czech town of Dubí, the collection is quickly becoming the new international example of fine Czech quality and design. Already renowned for its porcelain production for over three hundred years, it is inspiring to see such a modern take on an item that combines both new and traditional methods of production that are perfectly suited to the area.
I have never been so overwhelmed by such incredible designs. The Lilia cubist designs have definitely gone down as one of my favourite collections of all time. The modern cubist look with its glossy white finish is elegant enough to work with a multitude of spaces, traditional, contemporary and modern. With such a visual grace and instant attraction, I would recommend keeping table settings as simple as possible allowing the tableware to take centre stage. The simplicity of the finish, however, does allow you to dress up and accessories the collection if needed.
