Note Design Studio presents the 'Formations' installation during Milan Design Week to showcase the potential of Tarkett's new IQ surface material.
Stockholm based Note Design Studio exhibits their latest installation 'Formations' amongst the historic surroundings of Circolo Filologico Milanese during this year's Milan design week. Erecting large geometric totem pole sculptures at the heart of the building, the idea is to showcase the potential of Tarkett's IQ surface; new material from the vinyl flooring manufacturer that can be continuously recycled. IQ Surface is a durable material that can also cover angular and curved forms. It is produced using recycled materials and can be recycled by the company when it is no longer in use.
The central installation consists of twenty-four columns within an impressive galleried interior, beneath a beautiful glass ceiling. Visitors can walk around the former research institute built in the late 19th century to engage with the installation on multiple levels. The columns and objects showcase the five colour palettes available, featuring muted shades of red, navy, cream and grey. Other rooms within the building exhibit further objects and formations for guests to engage with, from the iconic abstract dog sculptures designed by Eero Aarnio to tables, desks and screens. The spaces have been furnished with furniture and accessories by Magis.
